The Santuario de Chimayó has been a pilgrim destination for a long time. To begin 2014 the staff at the Santuario has increased with a quasi-dedicated pilgrim-in-residence - Ann, the Winter Pilgrim, the primary author of this blog, when not on pilgrimage.
I have been a foot-pilgrim since 2006, a pilgrim of extraordinary journeys, intermittently chronicled at www.winterpilgrim.blogspot.com. Committed to a pilgrim life, when I'm not on pilgrimage, I will be helping other pilgrims and speaking about pilgrimages.
In response to countless expressions of interest that a network of pilgrim caminos be developed in North America similar to those in Europe (particularly to Santiago de Compostela), I'm pursuing the concept with focused energy. The primary destination being the Santuario de Chimayó, already a world-renown pilgrim center.
